My wife and I were looking for a vacuum to help with allergies and we are happy with the other Dyson we have, a DC 21 the canister. While weight was not a concern for me, it was for my wife. This is a light weight vacuum that is easy to use. It picks up plenty and seems to do an excellent job. It does an especially good job on pet hair. The canister is easy to empty. And most of the complaints that existed from the previous ball seem to have been addressed. The only drawback is that the tool extension is not very convenient to use. It is a hard tube that is great for reaching an object at a distance, but not being able to shorten it for something close up is not a great design.
