After upgrading from our 3 yr. old Dyson to this model, we are very pleased. The only downfall would be the smaller canister/dust container. The exercise to the trash is much welcomed due the appreciation we have for this machine. We have 3 large long hair dogs and it cleans our carpets wonderfully. As allergy sufferers, after vacuuming, the sneezes and runny noses seize. The ball makes it very easy to manuever around furniture and for a "vacuumee" who is disabled, this vacuum is the easiest and best worker and very well worth the extra money. We tried it out at Best Buy first for a "test drive". This is definitely a good idea if you aren't sure about spending over $300.00 on a vacuum. Even the sales personnel there said they've had little to no returns on the Dysons as compared to the other brands that attempt to mimic their brand.
